A year ago, I started a new business. I also started documenting the good things happening in Philadelphia, and sharing a new story every Friday on LinkedIn. Somehow, it is still going.

Despite what you’ve read or experienced, it was a good year. This is proof. One article, one city, fifty-two inspiring stories. Imagine if every city posted an article like this. Imagine we focused on kindness, generosity and selflessness. What a wonderful world it would be. Let’s review!

A guy creates a fund to give money to small businesses. A company donates masks. The Sixth Man funds a new basketball facility for kids. Kids get bikes from a SEPTA worker. Speaking of transportation, a kid converts a bus into a lemonade truck

Students make life a little less taxing for needy residents. Eagles fans show gratitude before a sendoff. Struggling small business are still generous. Student drops pizzas out of his window, for charity.

Restaurant owners ask customers to make food donations instead of tips. Five pitches get $50,000 to launch their business. A big brand celebrates 75 and charities benefit. Despite losses, restaurant prepares Italian Feast for community.

Purpose Pale Ale is born in a prison. New York bagels bring nourishment to the needy in Philly. Doctor honored for providing free testing and vaccinations underserved communities (video). A 19th century fund still helps Philly businesses. Employee—owned businesses get a boost with $3 million donation.

Comcast engineer refurbishes and donates laptops. Raising money in Philly to send oxygen to India. Philly Foundation focuses on black-led nonprofits. Philly native wins The Voice.

New device brings life to heart transplants. Wawa and Mare of Easttown create cheesesteak for charity. Fifteen year-old lands deal with 76ers. NASCAR champ supports Philly nonprofit.

Philly kids receive sporting goods from Dicks. Victoria’s Kitchen receives $10,000 and invite for accelerator. BSwan Dance Company gives back. Piano survives Holocaust and is restored in South Philly. Father donates 8,000 free haircuts to the homeless.

West Philly restaurant hosts soup kitchen on Mondays. Famous 4th Street makes cookies for CHOP. Philly man hugs people all around the world. Pizza shop gives ex-offenders a second chance.

Bank donates bikes to kids. Nintendo found at Goodwill generates $10,000 donation. Small businesses coming back and giving back. Family loses son, donates furniture to Afghan families.

Esports comes to West Philly rec center. Chiefs fan donates kidney to Eagles fan. Potter from North Philly sells works to the rich and famous. Philly putty serves a purpose. Restaurants come together to tackle food waste.

Bees helping address mental health. Fifteen year old heads to Shark Tank Temple student raising money and eyebrows. Philly Marathon donates clothing.

Men in prison provide STEM kits for kids. Selfie room created for kids in need. He passed up 50 million to keep it real
