How Ten Year Old Nonprofit Discovered New Revenue Streams
Vision to Learn is a truly unique organization. Its return on investment is immediate—felt by the beneficiary and witnessed by the donor. A student who arrives at school unable to see the writing on the board or words in a book can receive a screening, exam and free pair of glasses within weeks. Now, they can fully engage with their education. We focused on uncovering new opportunities to tell heir story and secure funding to ensure their critical work continues.
Strategic Initiatives
- Expanding Revenue Streams. We developed and implemented a program to secure Vision to Learn’s approval as an Educational Improvement Organization (EIO) under Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. Additionally, we compiled a curated list of EITC-approved businesses as potential funding sources for the organization.
- Advocacy and Legislative Outreach. We identified key legislators in Pennsylvania and coordinated meetings to share Vision to Learn’s mission. These conversations strengthened ties with committees overseeing education, healthcare, and the budget process, helping to position the organization as a critical partner in addressing health equity.
- Storytelling Through Communications. We evaluated existing email communications and recommended a refreshed template to improve consistency and donor engagement. We proposed ideas to secure more testimonials and leverage influencers.
- Grant and Foundation Success. We introduced Vision to Learn to new funding opportunities by identifying and connecting with foundations focused on health equity and education.
